The proprietor of this web page and my husband, Willie B Faulkner survived his dual knee replacement surgery and the first stage of his recovery is at the Bryn Mawr rehabilitation hospital He will be discharged soon to continue the second phase of his recovery at home. We are praying for him.
Firstly, i must report that the launching of our web site will proceed without the production of my essays on "The Faulkners / Our Relatives. It is the result of my illness and pending dual knee replacement surgery and given the duration of my recovery my presentations therefore, will be further delayed. The good news is that our photo gallery will persist to provide an avenue of amusements for our viewers.
My series of essays on "The Faulkners/Our Relatives". in their entirety are biographies that will examine or analyze our ancestral roots, the ravages of slavery, their aftermaths, the ascendance, predominance of the Sierra Leone creoles during the colonial era. In addition, my essays will emphacize the virtues of Creoledom, it's landed "gentry" the Aristocrates or "Aristo" in krio, the society of the elite, such as our powerful merchants, lawyers, scholars, administrators, church pastors and ultimately, it' s disintegration in the 20th century. My place of birth Waterloo, an outskirt of the capital city of Freetown will be exhaustively discussed.
In retrospect,Our departed generation and my generation by our practice of peaceful social intrusion, inter- tribal integration have secured for the new generation an environment that will be tribally blind and peaceful, a recipe that Sierra Leone as a nation lacks. This is our dynasty, the African way, multi- racial,multi-tribal with relics of slavery and our photo gallery tells it all from generation gone to us.
